From 2020 to 2022, during the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic, Christine Chan undertook the complex task of producing seven virtual choir videos for the First and Wesley United Methodist Church in West Haven, Connecticut.
Traditional in-person rehearsals were not possible, and all choir members recorded their parts independently from their own homes.
Christine began by recording a rehearsal track, which she distributed to each choir member. Using this guide, the members recorded their individual singing parts on their phones. Once the recordings were submitted, Christine compiled and edited the audio and video files, producing cohesive virtual performances. Her work allowed the choir to continue sharing their music with the congregation during a time when in-person gatherings were not feasible.
